Hi there,

I just downloaded and installed Popfeed on my Joomla! 1.5 website. I have set the AutoPopFeed Parameter to 'Yes'. The words 'Leave you Feedback!' now appear at the bottom of articles.

However, when I click on that, A smal popup window opens with the following error message:

500 Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email address] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

ANY IDEAS?

Thanks!

Hello.

Thanks for posting here.

Yes, you can try to download and install again.

This probably means that the additional file, was not copied, maybe due to permission error.

Could you please send me a url at mavrosxristoforos@gmail.com?

Thank you again

I just installed today and am getting the exact same error.  All files seem to be installed, any thoughts?

Hello.

Can you please check if this file exists:

site_root/plugins/content/popfeed/form.php

Thanks again

Yes, form.php does exist and is in the correct folder.  The 404 error is for the missing error page (since I don't have a specific one set) I think?  The 500 server error is happening due to form.php it seems. A thought... has it been modified recently?  It seems no one else has had issues except in the last few days? Is there an older version I could download and try out?

There is no older version.. :(

I'm pretty sure that this is probably an error that already existed, but was triggered due to some Joomla! change.

One last question, before I start debugging it,

what Joomla! version do you use?

Thanks again

Hmm!

Haven't updated to the latest Joomla - using1.5.14

php version: 5.2.13

Using components Jomsocial and Jreviews, have you heard of any conflicts with them?

Happy to report after reviewing server logs I have figured out the cause of the server error!

It was a permissions issue - both the /plugin and /content directories were set to 777 permissions instead of 755.

No idea how this happened, but after setting them back to 755 the form shows up. :)

One last question - is it possible to add the URL of the article the person is reporting into the email that is sent to the administrator?

Thanks!

Oh great!

So, it was a permission error. I would never find it :)

BTW, please upgrade to J1.5.17 because Joomla! has said that all versions before 1.5.15 are in moderate security threat.

For the request, please send it to me as a message with some more details, at mavrosxristoforos@gmail.com and I will see what I can do.

Thanks again

I just want to let the developer know that I got the same permission mix up.

For some reason the permissions got changed for no reason. I wasn't even adding new content or modifying any files it just stopped working one day with internal server error.

HostGator support figured it out and fixed it for me but maybe this can be solved at the source in future releases :)

Thank you Steve for the information, but I really can't do anything.

Each host might work in a totally different way, and I do not have permissions to change permissions :)
