I tried to use the NS pro component but on doing so I get this error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare str_getcsv() in /home/*******/public_html/administrator/components/com_nspro/lib.php on line 1116

Any idea what is going on?

Yes, you just need a fix that was included 2-3 days after 1.4 was released.
