When I try to send an newsletter I receive this error. I've tried all I can think of - different paths, different delimiters, different permissions for the file and component files, php4 & php5 systems - is there something I'm missing?

The mailing_list.txt is being written to by the subscriber module just fine, so I'm surprised that I get this error with the same parameters in the component.

Here is the full error, after pushing the Send Email button in admin:

Error Sending Messages: Error #1: No recipients recognized.. Please check NS Subscriber File, or delimiter type parameter.

Thanks in advance for your help. I like the simplicity of the component and will certainly purchase the pro version if I can see it working.

Hello.

Thank you for posting here.

What is the path for the mailing list file in the module, and what is it in NS Mailer?

Thank you again.

This is the path: media/ns/mailing_list.txt

I've also tried the root directory (mailing_list.txt) and a direct url (http://www.mysite.com/mailing_list.txt)

Thanks.

Hi again..!

If the path is

media/ns/mailing_list.txt in the module / plugin, then the path you should write in NS Mailer is

../media/ns/mailing_list.txt

URLs won't work, because it tries to open the file.. Not download it.

Try this and it should work..!

Thanks again :)

It worked now by changing the url to relative rather than absolute ......

The trick is to locate the mailing list file, and create the path starting from the administrator directory.

Either relative or absolute, both should work as long as they point the existing file.

Thanks again!

@salster

If you don't have the subscriber form, you can't have a mailing_list.txt file.

This file appears after someone subscribes.

The problem you have, as far as I understand, is that you don't have the main extension Newsletter Subscriber installed.

If you do, then you should go to either the Module Manager or the Plugin Manager (according to what you downloaded), and then enable it.

For the plugin, you should also write {newsletter_subscriber} inside an article for it to show.

After someone subscribes, you will have a mailing_list.txt file.

Thank you again

I'm having the same problem.

I have a file in the root of a subdomain. The problem is if I do something like: ../mailing_list.txt it should connect to the root of the subdomain, right?

But that didin't worked, so I tried this: ../TA/mailing_list.txt which means that he should go back to public_html (of the mail domain) and so into the folder of the subdomain (TA).

But that isn't working neither :S

The file itself does actually appears.

To give you an idea of my path strucute:

-public_html

--folder XYZ

--TA

---Basic joomla folders (so also: Components/modules/...)

---mailing_list.txt

Greetz,

In the module or plugin parameter what have you written as the mailing_list.txt path?

You should write the exact same thing with a preceding ../

(The ../ is to go up the administrator directory to the root of the site, so this works if you're in a subdomain or anywhere)

That's all.

Hello Raijo.

It seems correct.

Does the file contain any subscribers? Would you mind sending it to me at mavrosxristoforos@gmail.com ?

Thank you.
