Rapid Contact always worked flawlessly throughout 1.5 but now I can't get it working after upgrading to Joomla 1.7.3 (am using the 1.6 version of RC); even tried using different options in Global Config (PHP Mail, Sendmail and SMTP) but always get the Invalid Email Error Message. What can I do next?

Hello. Thanks for posting.

This might be an error caused by your template.

Are you using a YooTheme template?

Aaaarrrggh, I returned to the default 1.7 template and it worked immediately! Many thanks.

I'm using the latest all singing/dancing template from Pixel Point Creative and am astonished that their template made such a difference as I tested it OK with a registration process that required login and email confirmation.

What change would I have to make to that template OR Rapid Contact to get them to co-exist? .... or perhaps I should upgrade to your Pro version?

Rapid Contact or Rapid Contact Ex can't really do anything on that!
The template is removing the @, the . and any other non-alphanumeric character from any posted data. That means your email is coming like emailsitecom
which of course is not a valid email.

If you want, please send me the template's index.php to mavrosxristoforos@gmail.com and I will tell you if I need any other file.

Thanks again.

Many thanks but I contacted the template provider and they suggested a simple fix that overcame the problem. Lesson to be learnt, if an extension doesn't work, use the default template!

Not that it really matters but I'm using the most recent Joomla version which is 1.7.2 ... Interestingly, the version is not displayed at the top right like 1.5 but it does show in the footer of every page in the Control Panel.

Yes, Joomla no longer shows the version on the top right.

Would you be kind enought to share the fix with me and the forum, for future users?

Thanks again!
